Braathen’s return to skiing also impresses Hirscher

Alongside numerous ski fans, eight-time overall World Cup winner Marcel Hirscher is also delighted about Lucas Braathen's return to the World Cup. "He's a special person," enthuses the Salzburg native.

Austria's former ski hero had hoped that Braathen would return to the Ski World Cup. On Thursday, the 23-year-old made his hammer comeback official. From the 2024/25 season, Braathen will no longer be competing for Norway, but for Brazil.

"I'm impressed by this big decision," trumpeted Hirscher. "Chapeau!"

 For the former ski superstar, one thing is certain: "Lucas Braathen is a special person. A very special athlete who the World Cup has missed."
