Woman (91) thrown from stretcher in ambulance

A serious traffic accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Feldkirch (Vorarlberg): a car and an ambulance collided. A 91-year-old patient was thrown from the stretcher and injured in the crash.

A 59-year-old man was driving his car on the L190 in Feldkirch at 4.30 p.m. on Wednesday when he wanted to turn off at a junction. He may have overlooked an ambulance that was also approaching the junction, albeit in the bus lane. A collision could no longer be avoided and the car and ambulance crashed into each other.

Injured person had to go to hospital
A 91-year-old woman lying on a stretcher in the ambulance was thrown to the ground by the force of the impact. It is not yet known how seriously she was injured. In any case, she had to be taken to Feldkirch hospital immediately. All others involved in the accident were uninjured.
