Contract extended
Goalie Schierl remains loyal to Lustenau until 2026
Goalkeeper Domenik Schierl has extended his expiring contract with Bundesliga bottom club Austria Lustenau by two years until 2026. The soccer club announced the news on Wednesday. "I'm super happy to have extended my contract. The club has become extremely close to my heart, so I wanted to make a statement with my extension," said Schierl.
The 29-year-old moved from Wr. Neustadt to Ländle in the summer of 2019 and has played 137 competitive matches since then. His next goals are already clearly defined: "I'm absolutely convinced that we'll manage to stay in the league this year. After next summer, I definitely want to play in the new stadium," added Schierl.
"Outstanding character"
Sports coordinator Alexander Schneider was also delighted. "In our view, Domenik has developed into one of the best goalkeepers in the league over the last few years. He is also an outstanding character off the pitch with a great standing within the team," said the German.
