Celebrities celebrated Ghesquière’s Louis Vuitton anniversary
Ten years ago, creative director Nicolas Ghesquière presented his debut collection for the luxury brand Louis Vuitton in this very place: the Cour Carré du Louvre, a magnificent courtyard of the Louvre Museum.
Around 4,000 guests and many international stars came to celebrate this anniversary with Ghesquière in Paris on Tuesday evening.
Celebrities showed off cool looks
Emma Stone, Cate Blanchett, Sophie Turner, Chloé Grace-Moretz, Lea Seydoux and German actress Sandra Hüller, for example, presented great Louis Vuitton creations before the fashion show.
Best-of by Ghesquière
The guests were surrounded by a backdrop of black rock and shining metal satellites.
The collection for the coming fall/winter was a kind of retrospective of a decade at Louis Vuitton and can be read like a best-of by Nicolas Ghesquière: He combined futuristic silhouettes and unique fabrications with sportswear elements and daring yet humorous details.
For example, the models wore huge, fluffy gloves and knitted hoods that looked like cat ears with their evening dresses. Some skirts were flared at the hem so that they literally shot up as they walked.
Paris Fashion Week came to an end
Particularly spectacular was a series of asymmetrical dresses made from scraps of fabric that looked as if they were made from feathers.
Louis Vuitton's show marks the end of Paris Fashion Week, a week in which major fashion houses such as Chanel, Dior and Saint Laurent presented their collections for fall/winter 2024/25.
