Return uncertain – ÖSV lady takes a new path

Chiara Mair's sporting future is still unclear. However, one thing is certain: the 27-year-old Tyrolean now wants to take off with energetic and spiritual treatments.

After Chiara Mair had to end the 2023 season in January due to a head injury that she suffered back in 2019 and has severely restricted her ever since, the ÖSV athlete has been undergoing ongoing therapy and maintenance training. She has already been on skis several times. However, for therapeutic purposes or as compensation - and not as race preparation. "It's really difficult to say whether I will return to the ski circus or not with such an injury and a mixed past that wasn't exactly influenced by positive external factors," she writes on her website.

"But one thing is crystal clear to me: I will listen 100% to my body and soul about what is best for me in the future. I'm definitely going to keep at it and be open to what changes and results over the summer," says Mair.

In the meantime, she is pursuing her newfound calling and hopes to be able to help some people and animals with her experience. With energetic and spiritual treatments.

Making good use of injury breaks
"In recent years - due to my skiing-related injury breaks - I have done some training in areas that have been very valuable for my health in a holistic sense and have supported me enormously in my sporting career and in life in general," writes Mair on her website. "And it is precisely for this reason, because of all the negative experiences I had to make and all the mountains I had to find ways to conquer myself, that I decided to put my knowledge into practice in order to support other people on their journey."
