In Spain, Real Sociedad's hopes of catching up against PSG were dashed early on.

Mbappé cut inside from the goal line in the penalty area and tucked the ball into the far corner (15').

In the 56th minute, the 25-year-old made the difference with a shot into the far corner. It was the Frenchman's 45th and 46th Champions League goals in his 69th appearance in the top flight.

The Parisians took it easy in the closing stages. Real Sociedad fought fiercely for the consolation goal and were rewarded in the 90th minute. Mikel Merino was responsible for the final score.
