“With heart and brain”: Müller’s promise to fans
Ahead of Bayern's important second leg against Lazio Rome in the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday, Thomas Müller has spoken out. In his newsletter, he addressed the fans of the record champions and promised great commitment.
"I am convinced that we will march like a fire department. It will also be important that we remain disciplined despite our drive," said the Bayern veteran. Whether the decisive goals are scored right at the start or later in the game is irrelevant. "The scoreboard doesn't care," said Müller.
Setback difficult to understand
The first leg in Rome was lost 1-0 in the end after a mixed performance. Nevertheless, the German record champions have a good chance of reaching the quarter-finals in front of their home crowd. "We'll go all out on Tuesday, with heart and brains. Pack ma's," said Müller with motivation.
The 34-year-old can't really explain the renewed setback against Freiburg at the weekend: "I definitely have the feeling that we're trying to turn things around in every game. But we just haven't managed it yet."
