Double from Austro-legionnaire Balic in Poland!
Important success for Poland international Husein Balić: The former St. Pölten and LASK attacker scored a brace in ŁKS Łódź's 3-2 win in Poland's Ekstraklasa and secured his team three important points in the relegation battle!
Balić, who even played an international match for Austria's national team in November 2020, moved from LASK to Poland in January in order to revive his career, which had stalled due to injuries and fluctuations in form.
Not an easy task for ŁKS Łódź, as the club already seems to have one foot in relegation. Before the current matchday, the team at the bottom of the table was 12 points off a non-relegation place. After today's win against third-bottom Puszcza Niepołomice, the world still looks bleak from ŁKS's perspective, but hope dies last.
The goals for ŁKS Łódź were scored by Dani Ramírez (38th/penalty) and Balić (58th, 76th), while Kamil Zapolnik (29th, 91st/penalty) scored for Niepołomice.
