Trouble for drivers: several cars destroyed in Vienna

A 43-year-old Austrian caused a lot of trouble on Gumpendorfer Straße in Vienna's Mariahilf district. The man is said to have gone through the street with an emergency hammer and smashed the rear windows of several vehicles. The officers were able to apprehend the vandal. 

During questioning, the man did not want to reveal what had driven the 43-year-old to commit the crime on Wednesday evening. Nevertheless, he confessed.

Police officers were able to arrest the suspect in Gumpendorfer Straße at around 9.45 pm. The vandal had previously destroyed four vehicles. The weapon: an emergency hammer. 

The man was reported at large and the emergency hammer was taken from him.
