“It paid off”: ÖSV duo on the podium
Jacqueline Seifriedsberger and Eva Pinkelnig claimed a podium finish in the large hill ski jumping competition on Friday. The ÖSV duo only had to admit defeat to a Slovenian.
Two Austrians also made it onto the podium at the large hill ski jumping event in Lahti. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger and Hinzenbach double winner Eva Pinkelnig were only beaten by the superior Slovenian Nika Kriznar on Friday. As her compatriot Nika Prevc only finished in tenth place, Pinkelnig reduced her deficit in the overall World Cup rankings to less than 200 points. The season continues next week with two competitions in Oslo.
Seifriedsberger, who also finished alongside Pinklenig on the podium twice last weekend in Hinzenbach, was 7.6 points behind Kriznar. "It went quite well, but I still have my problems with the inrun, but that's complaining on a high level. I got a lot out of the flight, I'm really happy," said Seifriedsberger.
Successful changeover
Pinkelnig was already 14.3 points behind the winner in third place, the Vorarlberg native improved from seventh place to the podium in the second run after a ski change.
"That was another very, very cool competition. I changed my equipment and it paid off," said the defending World Cup champion. Pinkelnig is 174 points behind Prevc with seven competitions to go. The third best ÖSV athlete was Sara Marita Kramer in 17th place.
