ÖSV youngster Zudrell:
“I was completely stuck in the garage twice”
Moritz Zudrell finished in tenth place in the FIS giant slalom in Pass Thurn, after run one the Silbertaler was still third. However, the ÖSV youngster was annoyed about his second run on the Resterhöhe.
In the first run of the first of two FIS giant slaloms in Pass Thurn, everything went smoothly for Moritz Zudrell on the Resterhöhe. With a time of 58.29 seconds, the slalom specialist was only 38 hundredths behind the leader Nickco Palamaras (D) in third place, keeping his chances open for the second run.
However, not everything went according to plan in the final run. "I could have done a lot better," said the 18-year-old, "I was completely stuck in the garage twice in the second run." Zudrell finished the race in tenth place (+0.61), but he was delighted with the best giant slalom points of his young career (28.42). The victory went to Palamaras (1:53.75), ahead of the two Austrians Christoph Meissl (+0.01) and Oscar Heine (+0.11).
Next chance
The ÖSV youngster will get his next chance to further improve his points today - in the second race Zudrell wants to finish with two equally strong runs this time.
