Rival knocked on the door
Lucrative offer for ÖFB legionnaire rejected
Kevin Stöger is highly coveted! Union Berlin made a lucrative offer for the Austrian international in the winter, but VfL Bochum rejected the bid.
Eleven days ago, Kevin Stöger was the match-winner in the sensational 3:2 win against Bayern with a goal and an assist. Bochum are now eight points clear of the relegation places. The Upper Austrian has played a big part in this with five goals and six assists.
His contract expires at the end of the season and his next career move is probably only a matter of time. A Bundesliga rival, Union Berlin of all clubs, came knocking in the winter. As reported by "Tief im Westen - Das VfL-Magazin", the club of fellow ÖFB player Christopher Trimmel made a lucrative offer for the 30-year-old midfielder. However, VfL turned it down, not wanting to hand Stöger over to a direct competitor (Union currently have the same number of points as Bochum).
Without a consultant
The family father (one daughter), who does not have a consultant, recently commented on his contract situation to the "Krone" newspaper: "I initially spoke to VfL. But I've also made it clear that I'm listening to other things. Then I'll have a look with my family."
