Car crashes into stream bed in Tyrol: driver injured

A 33-year-old local man was injured in a traffic accident in Kirchberg (Tyrolean district of Kitzbühel) on Thursday morning when his car left the road and crashed into a ditch. 

The Austrian was driving along Spertentalstraße from the district of Aschau towards Kirchberg at around 6.15 a.m. on Thursday when the accident occurred. For reasons as yet unexplained, the car went over the left-hand edge of the road on a slight right-hand bend. It then rattled across a field for around 20 meters before the car finally crashed into a stream bed. 

The 33-year-old driver sustained injuries of indeterminate severity in the accident. The ambulance took him to hospital in St. Johann in Tirol. His vehicle sustained serious material damage.
