Seriously injured driver rescued from wrecked truck

The driver was driving on the Görtschitztal federal highway (B 92) at around 4 p.m. when he left the road via the right-hand verge and crashed over the embankment there.

"It toppled over the embankment there with the towing vehicle and trailer and came to rest on the right-hand side of the vehicle," said a police officer. The 27 emergency services from Wieting and Guttaring rescued the seriously injured man from the wreckage. "The most strenuous part of the operation was unloading the truck and then recovering it," said the fire department.

The ambulance took the seriously injured man to Klagenfurt Hospital.
