Driver (29) crashes into police bus on duty
Thunder! Two police officers were traveling in a police bus in Wels with their blue lights and sirens on. At a crossroads, however, their journey was brought to an abrupt halt. A 29-year-old man from Stadl-Paura was unable to brake his car in time and crashed into the police vehicle. The driver was injured.
The two police officers had been called to a scene in the urban area early on Monday morning and were on the road with their blue lights and sirens flashing. They were driving their police bus along Oberfeldstraße in an easterly direction.
Overlooked
At the junction with the B 137, they slowed down, drove at walking pace and wanted to turn left. At the same time, the 29-year-old man from Stadl-Paura came along in his car. The man must have overlooked the emergency vehicle. When he finally noticed it, it was unfortunately already too late.
Injured and taken to hospital
The driver of the car was unable to slow down his vehicle in time or take evasive action. His vehicle crashed into the police bus. The 29-year-old was injured and had to be taken to hospital. Fortunately, the two officers were uninjured.
