Drunk driver crashes his car into a stream
Dramatic scenes unfolded on a local road in the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district during the night from Friday to Saturday. A 27-year-old car driver, who was heavily intoxicated, left the road at around 03:15 and crashed into a stream. The passenger and driver were injured.
In the early hours of February 24, there was a serious accident in Prätis in the municipality of Pöllau in which two people were injured. A 27-year-old car driver from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district lost control of his vehicle and left the road. He crashed through the bridge railing, hit a tree, overturned and crashed into a stream bed. The car came to a standstill lying on its roof.
On arrival, it was fortunately found that the two occupants were able to free themselves from the vehicle.

The driver and his 28-year-old passenger managed to free themselves from the wreckage. The fire department emergency doctor and the paramedics from the Pöllau volunteer fire department, together with the Red Cross, provided first aid to the two occupants. They were then taken to Hartberg Regional Hospital with indeterminate injuries.
A breathalyzer test showed that the driver was heavily intoxicated. The vehicle had to be recovered with the fire department's crane. After clearing the accident site, a temporary bridge railing was installed.
