164 km/h instead of 60
Two speeders had to surrender their driver’s license in Tyrol
During speed checks on the Brenner Pass and in Kössen on Thursday, the Tyrolean police caught two drivers who were driving far too fast on the highway and in the local area respectively. Both young men have now lost their driving licenses.
The first speeding driver was caught by plainclothes officers from the Schönberg highway police on the A13 Brenner freeway on Thursday afternoon. In the municipality of Gries am Brenner, the 18-year-old German was driving at 164 km/h through a place where only 60 km/h was permitted.
Through the local area at 105 km/h
Later that evening, a 27-year-old Dutchman in Kössen (Kitzbühel district) was flashed by police officers who were carrying out speed measurements in the local area. Instead of the prescribed 50 km/h, the car driver was driving at 105 km/h through the town.
Both drivers had their driving licenses confiscated on the spot. They will now face charges.
