After knife attack
High school student stabs classmate: 4 injured
The pupils injured in the attack in Wuppertal in Germany are all out of danger. A 17-year-old high school student is said to have attacked his classmates with stabbing weapons at a grammar school on Thursday.
He is then said to have seriously injured himself. The police issued an amok alert, the school was cordoned off, evacuated and searched by heavily armed special forces because it was initially unclear whether there were other perpetrators. What happens to the suspect is now a matter for the court, it was said.
The police were on the scene with more than 100 officers. It could not be ruled out that the incident at the Wilhelm-Dörpfeld-Gymnasium was a rampage.
Special units were able to overpower and arrest the attacker in the school at 10.20 am. According to "Bild", the suspect was also injured.
Numerous pupils had barricaded themselves in front of him in their classrooms and the building has since been evacuated, according to the police. "The pupils are safe and are being looked after," tweeted the officials.
