Blockage in early morning traffic

Shocking moment Wednesday morning on the Danube highway (A22) in Vienna: A woman was walking through the busy Kaisermühlentunnel with a child. The tunnel was immediately closed as a result.

At 7.38 a.m., Asfinag received an emergency call that two people were walking through the Kaisermühlentunnel. The tunnel was closed immediately. A traffic jam quickly formed in the early morning traffic.

Before the emergency services arrived on the scene, the woman and the child had already left the tunnel - and disappeared. 

The police traffic control center was also informed by Asfinag. However, when the motorcycle police arrived, the woman and child were nowhere to be found.

No accident or breakdown
Curious: there had been neither an accident nor a breakdown in the tunnel, so it is completely unclear why the woman and the child got themselves into such a dangerous situation. 

After a few minutes, the tunnel was reopened.
