The authorities in the US state of Texas have been searching for a missing eleven-year-old girl for days. Audrii Cunningham set off for school last Thursday, but she didn't even make it to the school bus and has since disappeared without a trace. Investigators are hoping for important clues from a 42-year-old man who was arrested on Friday.

The man, who was taken into police custody for a violent offense, lives in a trailer near Cunningham's home, according to US media. According to the Polk County Sheriff, the "person of interest" is a friend of the father. According to reports, there is no suspect yet.

"Once we have evaluated and organized all the leads, we will decide what charges we can bring forward," Sheriff Byron Lyons announced at a press conference on Monday. Investigators asked people who took videos of the road Cunningham used daily to catch the school bus between 6:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. that day to come forward.
