Fire still blazing
Body recovered from burnt down water park
A body has been recovered from the wreckage of a water park in Sweden that burned down earlier this week. This was announced by the police in Gothenburg on Friday. It was not initially clear whether it was the man who had been missing since the fire broke out.
On Monday, a fire broke out in the new, as yet unopened "Oceana" water park. According to the emergency services, the fire started in a water slide and later engulfed the entire building on the grounds of the large Gothenburg amusement park Liseberg in flames. A total of 22 people were slightly injured in the fire and one man was missing.
Body still to be identified
Until now, it had not been possible for the rescue services to enter all parts of the destroyed building due to the risk of collapse. Even on Friday, the fire had not yet been completely extinguished. Nevertheless, the police were able to start their investigation on site and found a body. This is now to be identified, the police announced.
