Unknown man rammed into skier – witnesses wanted
Police in the Tyrolean Stubai Valley are looking for an unknown winter sports enthusiast who allegedly caused a skiing accident in the Schlick2000 ski area on Ash Wednesday, injuring a 44-year-old woman. He then probably committed a hit-and-run.
The German woman was skiing down the blue piste no. 1 shortly before 2 p.m. in the afternoon and passed the intersection with the red piste no. 11. According to the police's findings so far, she was hit from behind by a skier, causing both to fall. The German woman was injured.
The unknown winter sports enthusiast - who was wearing red ski trousers and a white helmet - is said to have left the scene of the accident afterwards without providing first aid or giving his details. The injured woman was taken to hospital in Hall in Tirol after receiving first aid from the piste rescue service.
The police are now looking for the unknown skier. Any useful information about his identity should be sent to the Fulmpes police station on 059133 7112.
