Pedestrian falls under carnival float: dead!

A terrible accident occurred late on Saturday evening in southern Germany: A 20-year-old man fell under a moving carnival float.

It is still unclear how the incident occurred after the parade in St. Goarshausen near Koblenz (state of Baden-Württemberg), as the police announced in the evening.

The young man from the Rhine-Lahn district succumbed to his injuries in hospital. The investigation into the course of the accident is ongoing. The numerous witnesses to the incident were reportedly cared for by pastoral workers at the municipality.
