Many animals are still used for entertainment - on carousels, for example. The animal rights organization PETA now wants to take action against this and is even taking carousels whose animals are not "real" to task.

It is a problem that animals are used for entertainment, said Peter Höffken, PETA's expert on animals in the entertainment industry in Germany. Bild" had previously reported that PETA had called on an amusement park in the Netherlands to do without carousels with animals.

Höffken criticized the fact that tourists ride camels in Egypt or elephants in Thailand, for example. People had already learned as children that it was okay to treat animals in this way, said Höffken. For example, through carousels with animals. Since education starts with the little ones, it is right to start here. Children can sit in a car or on other objects, for example, but not on animals.

The animal rights organization had previously called on a manufacturer in the USA to stop the production and sale of carousels with animal motifs, according to the PETA website.
