Car driver knocks down boy (14) – and flees!

A serious traffic accident on Friday afternoon in Wörgl in Tyrol: a 14-year-old e-scooter rider crashed into a car. The driver looked up briefly, but then sped off. The police are now looking for witnesses.

At around 3 p.m., the 14-year-old Syrian was riding an e-scooter in the town of Wörgl on the sidewalk next to Tirolerstraße heading into town. "At the same time, a previously unknown female driver was also driving a black car on Tirolerstraße towards the city center and turned into Vogelweiderstraße," said the police.

The woman probably overlooked the e-scooter driver and a collision occurred from the side. "The teenager fell to the ground, the car driver looked up briefly and drove on in the direction of Vogelweiderstraße," said the investigators.

Mother called the ambulance
The teenager then went home and only later told his mother about the accident, who immediately called the ambulance. He was eventually taken to hospital in Kufstein with serious injuries.

The Wörgl police (059133/7221) are now looking for the woman who caused the accident and are asking witnesses for any useful information.
