Drunk Tyrolean (21) crashes his car into a stream

Spectacular traffic accident on Sunday morning in the Tyrolean lowlands: A 21-year-old local man drove his car off the road in Kirchberg (Kitzbühel district), causing it to plunge into a stream. According to the police, the driver tested positive for alcohol.

The accident happened at around 6.15 am. The 21-year-old drove his car over the edge of the road on a left-hand bend. The car then plunged around three meters over an embankment into a stream.

Driver "considerably intoxicated"
The local man suffered injuries in the accident. After first aid, he was taken to St. Johann Hospital by ambulance. "A breathalyzer test carried out on the driver revealed that he was considerably intoxicated," said the investigators.

Accident car recovered with a crane
The Tyrolean driver's license was confiscated on the spot. The vehicle involved in the accident was recovered by a towing service using a crane and with the assistance of the Kirchberg fire department.
