Crashed into a crash barrier for almost 14 kilometers

A 19-year-old and his friends took a dangerous wrong turn in Carinthia's Gurktal valley - the police found him asleep in his car. Alcohol had contributed to the young man causing traffic accidents with material damage and committing a hit-and-run.

On Saturday shortly before 4 a.m., a 19-year-old was driving with friends from Feldkirchen towards Gurktal. "He damaged several road marker posts over a distance of almost 14 kilometers," said a police officer.

A road maintenance employee filed a report, the police moved out and found the driver asleep in the car on the Wimitzer Straße in the municipality of Gurk! 

A breathalyzer test on the 19-year-old from the district of St. Veit was positive. He didn't even have a driver's license!

He faces charges for a traffic accident with material damage, hit-and-run and drink-driving. His passengers will also be charged: they were behaving extremely aggressively.
