25 kilometer long ghost drive through Lower Austria

On Friday night, a courageous truck driver managed to stop a 23-year-old wrong-way driver on the Kremser expressway in Lower Austria after he had been driving against the direction of travel for a total of 25 kilometers. The 23-year-old also had a whopping 2.8 per mille alcohol in his blood.

According to the police, the drunk driver had driven the wrong way at the Krems-Süd junction. The man then drove on in the direction of Krems towards St. Pölten. He was only stopped by a truck driver at around 1 am.

Driving license confiscated
The police officers alerted immediately carried out a breathalyzer test on the wrong-way driver. The result was 2.8 per mille.

The Lower Austrian's driver's license was confiscated. Reports to the St. Pölten public prosecutor's office and the responsible district authority will follow.
