According to Swedish media, a live hand grenade was discovered outside the Israeli embassy in Stockholm on Wednesday. The alerted security forces carried out a controlled detonation.

According to the police in the Swedish capital, the dangerous object was discovered on the fence at the rear of the building. The national bomb squad determined that the object was armed. It was then destroyed on site. The police cordoned off the area during the incident on Wednesday and launched an investigation.

Ambassador: "We will not be intimidated"
The Israeli ambassador to Sweden, Ziv Nevo Kulman, spoke of an attempted attack on the embassy and the staff there. He thanked the Swedish authorities for their quick response and made it clear: "We will not be intimidated by terror."
