Investigation against the heroes of Villach closed

A month has passed since the terrible terrorist attack in Villach. And it took just as long for the public prosecutor's office in Klagenfurt to establish that a Syrian supplier had acted in "emergency aid" when he tried to stop the attacker! Now the investigation has finally been closed.

On 15 February, the 42-year-old Syrian father had seen a man armed with a knife attacking young people in the center of Villach - he did not hesitate for long and drove his car at the attacker. It later turned out to be a terrorist whom he had tried to stop.

The 23-year-old wanted to kill as many people as possible. A 14-year-old boy died and five other men were injured, some of them seriously. Since then, the asylum seeker has been in solitary confinement under heavy guard; he is being investigated for murder with a terrorist background.

However, the hero who confronted the suspect was also formally investigated. It was a case of assault - at the expense of the assassin. However, the public prosecutor's office in Klagenfurt has now dropped the case - it was a case of emergency aid, a special form of self-defense.
