An Oscar for exaggeration
Kronen Zeitung als bevorzugte Google-Quelle hinzufügen Two days after the Oscars in Hollywood, Donald Trump won the Oscar in the US Congress for the longest speech full of exaggerations. For example, the war in Ukraine has not caused "millions of deaths" - but certainly too many.
The only new item in Trump's 43-day track record was on the subject of Ukraine after the row in the White House. He quoted from a letter in which Zelenskiy declared his readiness for peace negotiations "under the leadership of the USA". The old precondition of security guarantees is apparently no longer included. Trump welcomed Zelenskiy's concession, which also means that the White House has not signed the raw materials agreement.
On the subject of the economy, Trump defended his tariff policy, but prepared the Americans for "some unrest" - i.e. price increases. This was the price for the fact that "America is facing the dawn of a golden age".
Trump presented himself to Congress as a man with a heavenly mission. He expressed his conviction that he was "saved by God in the shooting attack during the election campaign in order to make America great and return it to its former strength". You can say what you like about this US president, but the working energy and physical strength of the soon-to-be 79-year-old are extraordinary. You could also call it destructive power.
