Hirscher celebrates “beautiful” birthday present

Great jubilation for Marcel Hirscher! Henrik Kristoffersen and his Norwegian compatriot Timon Haugan gave "Van Deer", the Salzburg native's ski brand, a double victory in the Kranjska Gora slalom on Sunday. A "nice" birthday present, says Hirscher happily.

"Double victory in Kranjska Gora - a nice birthday present," wrote Marcel Hirscher, who turned 36 on Sunday, via Instagram. "What a weekend for Van Deer!" The former World Cup dominator is "incredibly proud of the whole team".

A success that feels really good! Because just a few weeks ago, there was a lot of frustration at the World Championships in Saalbach. For example, Kristoffersen criticized his equipment: "If nothing comes back from my skis and the snow, it's a bit slow with my skiing style." In Kranjska Gora, however, things looked very different again.

Hirscher's future open
Hirscher is currently condemned to watch. On December 2, a cruciate ligament rupture set him back rudely in his comeback season. His future is still open. He would like to make a decision on how to proceed before the World Cup finals in Sun Valley (March 22 to 27).
