Bad news for Real Madrid in their 1-0 Copa win against Real Sociedad! Just before the final whistle, Dani Ceballos suffered a nasty thigh injury and the midfielder limped off the pitch in tears.

In stoppage time, Ceballos and Sociedad striker Takefusa Kubo collided knee-to-knee and the Madrilenean was led off the pitch supported by supporters.

Medical examinations on Thursday revealed that Ceballos had suffered an injury to the semimembranosus muscle and the tendon in his left thigh muscle was also affected by the injury.

Long break imminent
It is still unclear how long he will miss the club, but reporter Edu Aguirre expects him to be out for several months.
