Rostock wants to get tougher on nudist beaches

Strip or be banned: Rostock is considering tightening the regulations for nudist beaches.

A draft resolution for the city council meeting on Wednesday states: "Only nudists are allowed to stay on nudist beaches. Bathing clothed and sunbathing clothed is not permitted."

Expulsion for non-compliance
The previous regulations only state that the relevant sections are reserved for nudists. Moritz Naumann from the Rostock and Warnemünde Tourist Board explained that the possible amendment would allow the beach warden to issue bans in the event of conflicts.

Naked people filmed
The background to this is reports of conflicts. According to these reports, nudists are said to have felt disturbed by people who were clothed at the relevant sections. In some cases, they are even said to have filmed or photographed the naked people.
