AC Milan have surprisingly failed to make the play-offs in the Champions League! On Tuesday, the Milanese side were held to a 1-1 draw in the second leg against Feyenoord Rotterdam in front of their home crowd. That was not enough after the 0:1 defeat in the first leg.

The Rotterdammers, who were missing ÖFB team defender Gernot Trauner through injury, will now face either Inter Milan or Arsenal London in the round of 16.

Gimenez refrained from celebrating a goal
The game got off to a perfect start for Milan. The Rossoneri took the lead after just 38 seconds thanks to a header from Santiago Gimenez. The Mexican striker had only moved to the Lombards two weeks ago from Rotterdam for 32 million euros and therefore decided not to celebrate the goal. Theo Hernandez had a chance to make it 2-0 shortly afterwards, but the Frenchman only hit the outside of the post (23').

At the start of the second half, Hernandez was sent off with a yellow card for a foul (51). The winger had already been cautioned for repeated fouls. This turned the game on its head, with Argentinian Julian Carranza equalizing with his head (73') to secure Feyenoord's promotion.
