Next European Championship medal for biathlete Mühlbacher!

Fredrik Mühlbacher was on the podium again on Friday at the European Biathlon Championships in Martello (Italy). After winning silver in the individual event on Wednesday, the athlete from HSV Saalfelden won the bronze medal in the sprint. 

Another jubilant day for Salzburg biathlon at the European Championships in Martello! Fredrik Mühlbacher won the bronze medal in the 10-kilometer sprint on Friday. The athlete from HSV Saalfelden was only 10.2 seconds behind the Norwegian winner Sivert Guttorm Bakken from Norway, who won ahead of his compatriot Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen (6.6 seconds).

Another birthday present
It was Mühlbacher's second medal at the European Championships. On Wednesday, he had won silver in the individual 20-kilometer race. Afterwards, "Freddy" spoke to the "Krone" newspaper about the "best day of his career". It was also the perfect present for his 27th birthday, which he celebrated on Thursday. He made himself a great present with bronze. The second best Austrian was Patrick Jakob from the St. Ulllrich am Pillersee ski club in 24th place. 

There was no success for the women, however. Anna Andexer (SK Saalfelden) came 19th, Lea Rothschopf from SC Kuchl came 25th and Kristina Oberthaler (USC Altenmarkt) was 35th. The pursuit competitions await on Saturday.
