Extensive geodata and artificial intelligence have made it possible to recreate the city as a virtual model in 3D. The possible uses are manifold. This not only provides new insights in terms of urban planning.

Thousands of aerial photos taken from an airplane form the basis for Villach's digital "geoZwiling". Artificial intelligence opens up new and exciting possibilities for citizens and urban planners.

In addition to a three-dimensional overview of the city, the free service offers the possibility of displaying Villach from different perspectives. Even solar radiation and shadows can be visualized for every time of year and day.

This provides new data bases, especially when planning houses, apartments, terraces or photovoltaic systems.

Various simulations possible
In addition to existing information, the specialist departments can also use the "geoZwilling" for various simulations. For example, floods, traffic flows or air pollution can be simulated.

In the discussion about soil sealing, reliable data material is now being added. Sealed surfaces, such as buildings, roads or parking lots, can now be displayed for every property in Villach. Green spaces, agricultural areas, water and meadows can also be viewed. The aim is to identify heat islands in the city and promote biodiversity.
