School bus with seven children left the road

In heavy fog and on a wet road, the driver of a school bus left the road in Semriach, north of Graz, early on Friday morning. The 79-year-old and the seven children on board were uninjured.

The driver was driving towards Semriach (Graz-Umgebung district) in the Schönegg area at around 7 am. There were seven schoolchildren aged between seven and 14 on the bus.

Skidded dozens of meters across a meadow
In a right-hand bend, the driver left the road and drove more than 50 meters along a sloping meadow until he was able to bring the bus to a halt by turning. No one was injured; the Semriach fire department was deployed with eleven people and two vehicles.
