Traditional butcher: bankrupt after a stroke of fate

He had already informed his customers about the painful steps, but now it's in black and white: traditional butcher Max Riepl e.U. is insolvent. Restructuring proceedings have been opened for the company from Sarleinsbach in Upper Austria. The mountain of debt is high.

"Unfortunately, my health situation and the general conditions leave no other option," Maximilian Riepl had already informed his customers and suppliers in the last few days that there was no other option but to close the business and file for insolvency.

The entrepreneur from Sarleinsbach was hit hard by a stroke of health last fall. His son tried everything he could to save the butcher's, catering and livestock business, but the change in customer demand, increased costs and an imminent need for investment made this an impossible task.

17 employees, 166 creditors
Restructuring proceedings without self-administration have now been opened at the Linz Regional Court. According to KSV1870, the assets amount to 343,000 euros, compared to liabilities of 4.78 million euros according to Creditreform. 166 creditors and 17 employees are affected by the insolvency.

In a press release, Kreditschutzverband von 1870 emphasizes that there is no economic connection to the meat manufacturer Anton Riepl in Gallneukirchen and that it is not affected by the insolvency in Sarleinsbach.
