Adnet murder case: Justice requests hospitalization

The "Krone" recently reported on the murder case: That German man (31) living in Adnet, who according to the allegations killed his mother (67) with a knife on October 22, suffers from mental health problems and is considered mentally incompetent. An application has now been made to commit him to a "locked ward".

The Salzburg public prosecutor's office announced in a press release that an application has been made for the suspect in the murder case to be placed in a forensic therapeutic center (formerly an institution for mentally abnormal lawbreakers). "According to the neuropsychiatric expert opinion, the person concerned was not sane at the time of the crime and there is a high probability that he will commit criminal acts with serious consequences again in the foreseeable future," the prosecution stated.

Jury decides on committal
A jury will decide on the application for committal during a trial at the regional court. A trial date has not yet been set. So far, the 31-year-old has denied the allegations. According to the investigation, he is accused of killing his own mother on October 22 during dinner in his apartment in Adnet-Weidach with "massive stab wounds and cuts" to the neck.
