Prantner becomes the new Styrian ORF Board of Trustees

This decision always causes heated discussions within the provincial government: who will be the new member of the Styrian ORF Board of Trustees? Previously, Klaus Poier sat on an ÖVP ticket, now it was the FPÖ's turn. Now, according to information from "Krone", the die is cast: Thomas Prantner will take over!

This decision by the new blue-black state government had already been eagerly awaited: Who will be the new Styrian ORF Board of Trustees? It was no big secret that constitutional lawyer Klaus Poier, who had been on a black ticket since 2015, no longer had a future under an FPÖ provincial governor. Now, however, according to information from "Krone", the die is indeed cast.

 Poier is "history", the provincial government will decide on his successor at its meeting tomorrow - namely Thomas Prantner. The 60-year-old is a media manager, experienced communications and marketing expert and, as former ORF Online Director and ORF TVthek inventor, a leading digitalization expert. In 2021, he ran in the ORF Director General election.

Head of the state is delighted with "intimate connoisseur of ORF"
Prantner is independent, has no party membership and, as an entrepreneur, invited Mario Kunasek to his "Business Talks" (most recently in Vienna in November), as well as former ÖVP state governor Christopher Drexler.

"I am extremely pleased that Thomas Prantner has accepted my invitation to represent Styrian interests on the ORF Foundation Board in the future. With him, our federal state is now represented by an intimate connoisseur of ORF," said Styrian head of state Kunasek to "Krone". He thanks the outgoing Board of Trustees Poier for his work over the past years.
