Biereth successor? “Something has to be done quickly”

Sturm's sporting director Michael Parensen spoke about the current situation on the transfer market during half-time of Sturm's Champions League match against Atalanta Bergamo. A successor for Mika Biereth should arrive as soon as possible. Further departures are to be avoided.

"A successor for Mika Biereth should come as quickly as possible. Better yesterday than today," Parensen told Sky at half-time of the match against Atalanta Bergamo. It was clear from the start that it would not be easy to replace a player of his quality, the sporting director admits.

What profile would the player have to match? "Of course, he has to have physical power and show presence in the box. I think that's particularly important," Parensen hints. Newcastle striker William Osula could possibly fill the gap.

Loan player Malick Yalcouye, on the other hand, will remain in Graz until the summer as planned, the sporting director clarifies: "He will stay with us. He has a good environment here to grow as a footballer." Parensen also emphasizes that the club will not be making any further departures.
