In addition to some shadows, Vienna's medical services also offer a lot of light. Where Vienna is at the top and in which areas criticism is justified, but not about specific Viennese problems: an international comparison makes it safe.

Long surgery waiting times, fully booked surgeries and other problems are only one side of the coin: in other areas, Vienna can score points with impressive services, right from the start of the rescue chain: Vienna not only has the only professional rescue service in Austria, but also by far the best trained staff: 94 percent are trained emergency paramedics, while in other federal states the ten percent hurdle is not crossed.
