Manchester City are back! The "Citizens" swept aside Ipswich Town and celebrated a 6:0 victory.

Champions Manchester City recorded a resounding victory in the English Premier League on Sunday. The "Citizens" dispatched relegation candidates Ipswich Town 6:0 away from home and continued their upward trend with their sixth unbeaten competitive game in a row. As a reward, they moved up to fourth place and thus a Champions League place, at least until Monday. They are twelve points off leaders Liverpool, who have also played one game less.

A few days after star striker Erling Haaland's contract was extended until 2034, he also got on the scoresheet with a 5:0 (57'). It was the Norwegian's 17th goal of the season. The outstanding Phil Foden (27th, 42nd), Mateo Kovacic (30th), Jérémy Doku (49th) and James McAtee (69th) also scored. Coach Josep Guardiola's side have won four of their last five competitive matches, with the next hurdle awaiting them on Wednesday when they visit Paris St. Germain in the Champions League.

United lost
City's local rivals United, on the other hand, suffered a setback after two competitive wins. They suffered a 3:1 defeat at home to Brighton & Hove Albion. The only success was Bruno Fernandes' goal (23rd penalty). Yankuba Minteh (5th), Kaoru Mitoma (60th) and Georginio Rutter (76th) were successful for the ninth-placed visitors after a mistake by goalkeeper Andre Onana, as they won for the third time in a row at Old Trafford. United, coached by Ruben Amorim, are only 13th (26). Nottingham Forest, who are level on points with second-placed Arsenal, remain third after beating Southampton 3-2.
