Death at Vienna subway station: U6 at a standstill

There was great shock in the Meidling station area on Tuesday afternoon. An elderly man suffered a cardiovascular arrest there. As the Vienna Professional Rescue Service reported to the "Krone" newspaper, resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful. The U6 line was closed for a long time due to the operation - the station was not served.

A rescue operation in the area of subway line 6 caused great excitement among numerous passers-by at around 4 pm. A passenger is said to have suffered a cardiovascular arrest on a platform and paramedics quickly rushed to help.

But in vain: as the Vienna Professional Rescue Service reported to the "Krone" newspaper, the elderly man died on the spot - despite the resuscitation measures that were immediately initiated.

Meanwhile, the operation also caused chaos for Wiener Linien. The U6 underground line was unable to call at Meidling station for a long time. It was not until shortly after 7 p.m. that irregular service intervals were restored.
