On the train with 13,000 euros and cocaine in his underpants

A 24-year-old Austrian was wearing "hot knickers" when he was checked by investigators during a train stop in Plattling (Bavaria). The Bavarian and Upper Austrian police officers first discovered 13,000 euros illegally imported in his belongings. They also found a few grams of cocaine in his underpants.

At around 12.10 p.m. on Friday, railroad investigators from the Passau border police station, together with Austrian officers and officers from the federal police, checked a 24-year-old Austrian on the ICE 28 train at Plattling main station, heading towards Vienna. During a search of his belongings, a total of 13,000 euros was found.

Proceedings for money laundering
During the physical search of the Austrian, the officers found 3.59 grams of cocaine hidden in his underpants and seized it. The Austrian was then provisionally arrested and handed over to the responsible criminal investigation department. As he was unable to provide conclusive proof of the large amount of cash, the cash and cocaine were seized and proceedings were initiated against the Austrian for money laundering and under the Narcotics Act.
