Crocodile mauled woman: hours of fighting

In Indonesia, people are repeatedly the victims of crocodile attacks. This time it is said to have taken several hours to free a woman from the jaws of a crocodile. In the end, however, all help came too late.

A woman has been found dead in Indonesia after a crocodile attack. Neighbors tried for several hours to free the woman from the animal's jaws, as Kornelius Wau, an employee of the local authorities in North Sumatra, reported.

Severe injuries to arms and legs
However, they were only able to recover the woman's body. The victim is said to have had serious injuries to her arms and legs. It remained unclear what happened to the animal afterwards.

The crocodile had been seen repeatedly by residents in the area for some time, it was said.

Crocodile attacks are not uncommon in Indonesia, the world's largest island nation, especially in rural areas. According to the organization Crocattack, 170 people were attacked by crocodiles in Indonesia in 2023, 85 of these attacks were fatal.
