Players threatened with weapon! Police react

As part of the investigation into a former official of the Bundesliga club SPG Ladies FC Lustenau/FC Dornbirn, a provisional weapons ban has now been issued against the man.

The police confirmed a corresponding report by ORF Vorarlberg on Tuesday. The man is accused of threatening several players with a firearm during a meeting; he denies the accusations.

There was no further information on the ongoing investigation; the ex-official's weapon is in the custody of the authorities. The Dornbirn district authority will ultimately have to decide whether a permanent ban will be imposed on the man.

Contracts terminated
Players from abroad returned to their home countries immediately after the reported incident and five contracts with players were terminated. The police began an investigation and the ÖFB and the Austrian Footballers' Association (VdF) have been informed. The official was relieved of all his duties "at the request of both parties" immediately after the allegations came to light.
