Truck drivers went into hiding: Half a million € damage

A company in Tyrol wanted to have two loads of copper bolts transported to France and hired a local company. But something went very wrong and the valuable cargo never reached its destination.

Two serious acts of fraud took place in the district of Kufstein at the end of November, as the police reported on Thursday. A company had sold two loads of copper billets to a company in France, for which a local company was commissioned with the transportation, which in turn passed the order on to a Slovenian sub-carrier.

The two loads were to be delivered to France by a Polish and a Croatian truck driver, but never reached the customer; instead, as it turned out afterwards, they were taken to Croatia by the two truck drivers due to falsified delivery orders. There the trail is lost.

All attempts to contact the Slovenian transport company have so far been unsuccessful. Financial damage amounting to a mid-six-figure euro sum was incurred.
