The river landscape along the Danube between Vienna and Hainburg is exciting - in every respect, whether it's the magnificent nature in the Donau-Auen National Park, the medieval town and castle or the extremely worthwhile excursion destinations such as the ancient Roman town of Carnuntum, which reopens its doors in March, or the Marchfeld castles.
